Installed Centos 7 today YES from the link MrB added
= http://isoredirect.centos.org/centos/7/i...l-1708.iso

and had port 21 closed error....

tried
[root@cpanel ~]# service proftpd status
Redirecting to /bin/systemctl status proftpd.service
Unit proftpd.service could not be found.

[root@cpanel ~]# systemctl status firewalld
● firewalld.service - firewalld - dynamic firewall daemon
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/firewalld.service; disabled; vendor preset: enabled)
  Active: inactive (dead)
    Docs: man:firewalld(1)

IS there a fix for this or is it another unsolved mystery ?  Wink

@TGates
I'm not sure with CentOS Sad
I use and prefer Ubuntu 14.04 myself and haven't had such issues.

@[Me.B] may be more able to help you with CentoOS.
proftpd seem not installed.

Did you get any error while installing it?

FYI: I have noticed a lot of CentOS users getting this problem. Is there possibly a problem in the installer or one of the CentOS repositories?
Is there no way can install proftpd seperatly ????
as i have been moving forward waiting on an answer
as in getting mail tls working installing and configing CSF and a few other known issues.

IT does seem there is a problem with the install script for CentOS 7
I think you can manually install it, but you have to use the configs from GitHub and passwords found in /root/passwords.txt

@[Me.B], does this sound about right? I have never had to do it.
Yep mainly the install is installing the package.

Then you will need to add a symbolic link to the configs unders /config/proftp they should already have the right passwords. Otherwise you will need to rebuild the config from github.

Still surprise me how it fails. I'm installing it a lot on centos and didn't notice this fail.

What release are you using centos 7 minimal? ISP? Or special image?
