ok.... got the ssl to work
now... when i go to the site, it states its not trusted. is there anything i can do other than purchasing a ssl cert?

And how do I remove a virtual host override

you can try startssl
it's free and almost every browser recognise its ssl

to remove virtual host override just clear the override box
i mean, delete all override entries
